Slow Smoked Sundaze, Father’s Day Specials, Stars & Stripes Party, Oak Grill Five-Year Anniversary Party and Exceptionally Special Multi-Course Wine, Champagne and Beer Dinners Throughout June, July and August
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (May 28, 2019) – Since it’s soon to be June, Fashion Island Hotel is hosting a sizzling selection of delightful food and beverage activities for summer for locals and destination guests. Father’s Day presents dad-friendly specials at Oak Grill, and every Sunday (except Father’s Day) in June, July and August is Slow Smoked Sundaze at Oak Grill. A very special five-course Nickel & Nickel Wine Dinner takes place in June, and July is all about the parties: Stars & Stripes Party at Aqua Lounge and the 5th Anniversary Oak Grill Party. Also in July is a Four-Course Duckhorn Wine Dinner. In August Fashion Island Hotel will host a Veuve Clicquot Five-Course Paired Dinner and feature Veuve Clicquot in Aqua Lounge for three days. To round out the summer, Towne Park Brew Beer Dinner at Oak Grill is in August.
Ongoing throughout the summer are 7 ‘til 7 Happy Hour at Aqua Lounge and Happy Hour Fireside at Oak Grill seven days a week from 4 to 7 p.m. Bites and shareables such as Popcorn Shrimp and Warm Artichoke and Parmesan Dip are just $7. Craft draft beers like Ace Pear Cider and Modern Times Orderville IPA are also only $7, and the same goes for well cocktails and wines by the class such as Domaine Chandon Rosé and Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. At nightly Fireside Sessions there is live acoustic music on the patio from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. In addition, Aqua Nights, Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., is when Aqua Lounge’s resident DJs and featured performers keep the place rocking while the music is pumping and its creatively unique cocktails are flowing.
Slow Smoked Sundaze at Oak Grill
Every Sunday in June, July and August (except Father’s Day) from 5 to 9 p.m.
Guests will take a trip down South this summer at Oak Grill as Chef Brittany Valles brings a touch of Southern hospitality to SoCal with its popular Slow Smoked Sundaze. Food lovers will dig into For the table Cheddar cheese biscuits, served with fresno chili jelly and garlic herb butter and House Made Seasonal Pickles. Starters include Watermelon Salad, Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs and Fried Green Tomatoes with burrata, country ham and herb chipotle aioli. Then diners have a choice of two Mains including Smoked Chicken, Cedar Plank Atlantic Salmon, Whole Grilled Branzino, BBQ Brisket, Herb Roasted Prime Rib and Smoked Hot Links served with Texas and Carolina style BBQ sauce. Choice of three Sides: Roasted Corn and Barley Salad, Carrot Slaw, Heirloom Potato Salad, BBQ Baked Beans and Slow Smoked Mac n Cheese. All this Southern-inspired home cooked goodness is to be savored with the house’s spiced pineapple punch, and scrumptious Desserts will be created by Pastry Chef Andy de la Cruz.

Nickel & Nickel Five-Course Wine Dinner at Oak Grill
Thursday, June 20; cocktail hour at 6 p.m.; dinner begins at 7 p.m.
Located in Oakville, Napa Valley, Nickel & Nickel is dedicated to producing 100 percent varietal, single-vineyard wines. The winery is particularly known for its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and its state-of-the-art winemaking set on a preserved 1880’s farmstead. Nickel & Nickel winery representative Mark Pighini will be on hand to interact with wine-loving guests at this five-course gourmet dinner. Chef Brittany Valles and her team will pair dishes with Nickel & Nickel Stiling Vineyard Chardonnay, Far Niente Estate Chardonnay, Bella Union Pinot Noir, Nickel & Nickel Quicksilver Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Nickel & Nickel Rock Cairn Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Far Niente’s legendary dessert wine, Dolce.

This Fourth of July Weekend, celebrators should put on their best patriotic attire and get ready for a red, white and aqua bash to celebrate America’s birthday! Freedom will ring with themed Hangar 1 Vodka cocktails and other quaffs, beats from Aqua Lounge’s live DJ and good ol’ fashioned fun.

This summer, Oak Grill celebrates five years of original California cravings, seasonal delights and a robust wine program – and it’s celebrating in great style. On Saturday, July 13, for Oak Grill’s five-year anniversary bash, guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, beers and wines by the glass, along with live celebratory music.

Duckhorn Wine Dinner at Oak Grill

Co-founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting fine varietal wines since 1978. The winery, located in St. Helena, Napa Valley, is one of the first 40 Napa Valley wineries and was the first American winery to pioneer luxury merlot. At this four-course Duckhorn Wine Dinner, Chef Brittany Valles will be pairing courses with Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc, Goldeneye Rosé, Calera Pinot Noir, Paraduxx and Duckhorn Three Palms Vineyard Merlot. Veuve Clicquot Champagne Dinner at Oak Grill; Featured at Aqua Lounge

Veuve Clicquot was founded in Reims, France, in 1772 by luxury champagne producer Philippe Clicquot, and one of its many claims to fame is being the first known maker of blended rosé champagne, which celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2018. Now, Oak Grill is hosting an unforgettable evening, serving five perfectly paired courses with sips of Veuve Clicquot’s memorable bubbles – Yellow Label, Rosé, Demi Sec, Rich and La Grande Dame champagnes. A Veuve Clicquot representative will walk guests through the champagnes. In addition, Veuve Clicquot champagne by the glass will be featured at Aqua Lounge on August 16, 17 and 18.

Towne Park Brew Beer Dinner at Oak Grill

Towne Park Brew is located in Anaheim, which is fast becoming a craft brew American capital. The brewery is devoted to specialty beers lovingly crafted in its 30-barrel brewhouse. Orange County founder and owner, Brett Lawrence, will attend this four-course dinner, where guests will savor local, seasonal brews by Towne Park paired with delicious dishes created by Chef Brittany Valles.
